How to Write a Resume? Beat the ATS System.

Facing interviews needs good preparation but getting those interviews requires a good resume that can crack the ATS system and be noticed by HR. There is no rocket science involved in creating such a resume. In this article, I will take you through the key points to making a good resume.

What is ATS?

ATS - Applicant Tracking System. It is a type of resume scanning software used by recruiters and employers during the hiring process to collect, sort, scan, and rank the job applications they receive for their open positions.

Steps to Crack the ATS

  1. Keywords: Identify the top keywords for the role that you want. Here let's say Data Scientist. Find 5 job descriptions related to data science, compare them and look for similarities that are asked for a data scientist role. Identify the keywords/Buzzwords that appear most frequently.

  2. Have a separate section named Tech Stack where you will put the top keywords. Once in the tech stack section and once in bullet points related to an experience or project.

And that is all there to beat the ATS system. I will share a sample fresher's resume for Data Science Jobs that was shortlisted even for 4+years of experience positions. Write your name above all the stuff and have a good tech stack along with links to the projects.
